Hi Reader –

A few weeks ago, I asked you what topics you'd like me to cover more in this newsletter.

The response was incredible — hundreds of replies landed in my inbox.

But here's what surprised me: A significant chunk of the requests were for features that don't currently exist in Evernote.

There were some great ideas. Seriously. I'd love to see many of them built.

But here's what I want to clarify again…

I Don't Work for Evernote

I know this might surprise some of you.

I'm an Evernote Certified Expert. I've been using the tool longer than anyone currently on their team. I have close relationships with their product managers. I even volunteer hours each week in their Slack channel, providing feedback.

But Evernote doesn't employ me. I don’t have a say in the development roadmap, I'm not on their payroll, and I don’t have a stake in the company. (Although, I wish I did – did you see that their parent company Bending Spoons who just announced the purchase of AOL now has an $11 Billion valuation?!” 🤯)

My job is to help you master the tool as it exists today — not to build new features for tomorrow.

How to Request Features

The good news? Evernote does have an official channel for feature requests.

And they listen.

Volume of requests is a genuine factor in what they choose to develop. The more people ask for something, the more likely it is to make it onto their roadmap.

You can submit your ideas here. (You’ll be asked to log in if you aren’t already.)

This is their official product feedback form, monitored by the product team. If there's a feature you're dying to see in Evernote, this is where to put it.

Evernote Is Innovating Fast

Here's what I can tell you: Evernote's product development timeline is aggressive right now. And many of the features they ship come directly from user feedback.

In addition to the 110+ features already released this year, Evernote is launching v11 shortly with loads of new features, some announced (AI Assistant, Semantic Search, and AI Meeting Notes), and also some surprises. And select v11 features, such as AI Meeting Notes, are being released in beta form to paid users now (download v10.160+ to try it out today).

We're going to see significant innovation in the weeks ahead. And, of course, I'll share more about these updates as they roll out.

What I Can Do for You

While I can't build new features, here's what I can do:

  • Help you design workflows that work with Evernote's strengths, not against them

  • Teach you hidden features most users don't know exist

  • Improve the speed and fluency of your Evernote use. When you learn what I teach, the app's value far exceeds its cost.

  • Keep you updated on every new feature as it launches

  • Show you how Evernote supports productivity best practices.

My independence is actually an advantage. I can be completely honest about what works, what doesn't, and how to get the most out of the tool as it exists today — no corporate filter required.

If you've been holding onto a feature wish list, today's the day to send it in. Use the feedback form. Make your voice heard.

And if you ever have questions about how to work with Evernote's current capabilities to solve a specific problem? That's exactly what I'm here for.

Cheers to your productivity —

Stacey
